Post Adoption Case Manager
As a Post Adoption Case Manager, Michelle stays in contact with forever families and the children they have adopted. Often, after an adoption has been completed, the families need support after a large transition. Michelle, along with other post adoption case managers, ensure that no family and no child is left feeling as if they are “on their own” while navigating this new territory.
Why I started with Arms Wide Adoption Services:
I felt as though it was a needed change of focus. Most of my career with social services had been intervening and preventing maltreatment of children. This gives me the opportunity to continue to assist families and children, but at a different time in their lives.
My favorite part about my job:
Seeing and hearing the relief of a parent or child who thought there wasn’t an option. Not every situation will have a perfect outcome, but knowing there are ways to help and find help is a step in the right direction. The occasional “thank you” hug is always a welcomed surprise also.
My least favorite part:
There are many families who can benefit from our organization that may not know we are here.
More about me:
I have lived in South Texas for nearly a decade, originally born and raised in NE Ohio near Cleveland. The warm weather brought me here and the friendly people convinced me to stay. I love to travel and see live theatre performances. Most of my free time is spent discovering new things with my daughter!
Ask me about:
Game of Thrones, Walt Disney World, and New York City
