Permanency Navigator
As the Permanency Navigator, Kristina Wyatt connects families to resources as Arms Wide and the community. After receiving her B.A. in Behavioral Science from Concordia University, she discovered her passion for social services and earned an M.A. in Community Counseling from Argosy University.
Why I started with Arms Wide Adoption Services:
I’ve always wanted to work in a helping profession and had experience in social services working at Child Protective Services. I realized kids who are abused or neglected often don’t have an advocate. At Arms Wide, I’ve found a home away from home because my fellow coworkers are so understanding and personable. I love that I get to help kids through an organization I believe in.
My favorite part about my job:
Placing a child with a good family, and then following up and seeing the placement through to finalization.
My least favorite part:
Not having enough homes for kids in need. I take so many emergency placement calls every day, and it’s so hard knowing that there’s not enough homes available.
More about me:
I’ve wanted to help people for as long as I can remember. At first, I planned to be a nurse but then discovered that I didn’t love science, and I felt much more strongly about advocating for kids. It feels great to know that I’m doing just what I’m supposed to be doing. Outside of work, I love organizing everything in sight and being a homebody with my four, wonderful kids.

Shopping! I love shopping for anything—clothes, home goods, antiques! And I love finding a piece to refresh as a DIY project. And I love talking about my awesome kids!
