Why I started with Arms Wide Adoption Services:
My passion for foster/adoptive children and families has led me on a journey of serving them in different capacities. Arms Wide Adoption Services has given me a platform to grow and cultivate skills that will enable me to better serve clients.
My favorite part about my job:
I truly enjoy engaging with the families and conversing about their progression. It has been an eye opening experience to see the different aspects of foster care and adoption.
My least favorite part:
Learning of the hardships that Post Adopt and Post Permanency families go through in order to maintain healthy family functioning. The journey that Arms Wide Adoption Services families go through is not always an easy one and it’s painful to read and hear what these children and families experience.
More about me:
It has always been my passion to work with people and my desire to better understand human nature. I’ve known since early in life that I wanted to pursue a career in the field of Psychology but I never knew where in the field I would end up exactly. My passion for children was not discovered until after graduating from Texas State University while working at a daycare. While employed at the daycare, I was enlightened to the beauty and warmth that children individually possess. This passion has advanced me to working in a variety of foster care/mental health/social service positions.
