Gabrielle Bland, MSW
Post Adoption Case Manager
As a Post Adoption Case Mananger, Gabrielle works with families who have adopted children through the child welfare system. She helps find community resources which aid her families to be healthy and successful.
Why I started with Arms Wide Adoption Services:
As a recent graduate of the University of Houston’s School of Social Work and with seven years of experience in the child welfare system, I understand the benefits of aligning post adoption families with services which can assist them in meeting the needs of their children.
My favorite part about my job:
Creating relationships with families! I love speaking with families about both the improvements they have seen in their children due community services and support from their parents and talking about miscellaneous things the parents enjoy speaking with me about. I hear about creative learning experiences (more than usual right now because of COVID-19) that children have had, vacations, and different experiences in their communities.
More about me:
After graduating from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg FL, I joined AmeriCorps in Austin, TX for two years – one year working with 4H Capital as an after school teacher and another working with the Girl Scouts of Central Texas as a program coordinator. From there, I began to work with Child Protective Services as a Conservatorship worker, and the work led to my Masters in Social Work. I have always had a passion for working with youth, enjoying the challenge that teenagers can present and experiencing the positive impact that the community can make in their lives.
