Step 1: Information Meeting

Information Meetings in Greater Houston:

Our Greater Houston office serves families in the following counties: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Colorado, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Walker, Waller, and Wharton.

Participating in an Information Meeting is the first required step in the process towards becoming an Arms Wide foster or adoptive parent. If you are interested in learning more about the process, please register for a virtual Information Meeting by visiting the Event Calendar and choosing the date that works best for your schedule.  Although we typically hold Information Meetings in person at our office, we are monitoring the situation related to COVID-19 and offering virtual meetings to ensure the safety of our families and children.

During the Information Meeting, an Arms Wide Coordinator will walk you through the process of fostering or adopting a child or children in foster care. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about fostering or adopting a child or children in need, in addition to meeting other families who are interested in becoming foster or adoptive parents.

Questions about Greater Houston area Information Meetings may be directed to Carrie Shephard at cshephard@armswide.org.

We look forward to meeting you soon!
