Saluting Parents During Foster Care Month

Every May, during National Foster Care Month, we salute the compassionate people who make a difference in the lives of children and families throughout the year.

We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for the work you are doing to care for children. By opening your home and heart, you play a vital role in helping children and families in crisis heal. Your commitment leaves an indelible mark on generations to come. You are helping end cycles of neglect, abuse and/or drug addiction, and you are often helping a child be the first in his or her family to finish high school or even go to college. Children leave your home knowing there are many paths in life leading to success, and that one day, they may raise a family of their own.

As a foster parent, you do a vital job when you teach children the skills they need to know to get along later in life. The treatment you provide in your home for children in need of so much is invaluable. We know you don’t get nearly enough thanks or recognition for your efforts, but we appreciate all you do and wanted you to know. And although children you’ve helped don’t always tell you, their lives have been changed forever having known and been helped by you.

Thank you for your willingness to “answer the call” no matter when it comes, for sharing your family and your home, and for giving love, encouragement, and hope to children and families in need. Thank you for turning lives around and helping children to find nurturing, permanent families. You are our hero – Not just during Foster Care Month, but always!

Sincerely,

Your Arms Wide Adoption Services Family
