Partnering with A.D. Players’ Stuart Little

During the months of July and August, Arms Wide Adoption Services is excited to partner with A.D. Players as they present Stuart Little: The Musical.

From A.D. Players:

“As with all Academy Productions, our educational goal is to partner with a local philanthropic cause to promote awareness for a particular need in the community. The beautiful story of Stuart Little’s assimilation into his brand new, adoptive family was one that motivated us to reach out to those in our world who may be struggling to find a family and a home of their own. To bring light to these situations and these children, the Academy has decided to partner with Arms Wide Adoption Services, an organization geared toward making the adoption process as smooth as possible for both child and family.

Arms Wide Adoption Services will be meeting with the Stuart Little the Musical cast members on July 18 to educate and inform them on how to become a volunteer. Arms Wide Adoption Services will be sharing their mission, goals, and story with Stuart Little Audiences during the show run at George Theater.”

In addition to shout outs during the performances, A.D. Players are providing Arms Wide Adoption Services with many neat opportunities for its staff, families, and supporters. Here’s everything you need to know:

Educational Presentation for Cast Members & Families: July 18th

Arms Wide Adoption Services will be speaking to the Stuart Little: The Musical cast and crew members. We will share our mission to transform the lives of children in need of safe and nurturing adoptive families.

Angel Room Donation Drive: July 24th-31st

The Academy is also sponsoring a Hair Care Donation Drive. A hair regimen for African-American children is challenging and costly for those who foster/adopt, and so A.D. Players wants to help stock Arms Wide Adoption Services with gift bags for these families. These will be placed in the Angel Room to assist in providing simple toiletry/hair care needs when children are being placed.

Theatre Respite Day for Partner Families: July 27th

In partnership with the cast/crew of Stuart Little: The Musical, Arms Wide Adoption Services families will experience a grand adventure. This drama workshop event will be fun-filled and with a focus on theatrical activities rather than performance. Participants will learn all about the performing arts and topics such as characterization, ensemble, and physicality in an active way. Be apart of the adventure! Register today.
