COVID-19 Update

Arms Wide Adoption Services’ response to COVID-19:

The safety of the children, families, and communities we serve continues to be our number one priority. Arms Wide Adoption Services remains open and staffed with essential personnel. Caseworkers and support staff will be available by phone around-the-clock to support families enrolled in our foster care, adoption, post adoption, and post permanency programs. We are limiting group activities to prevent exposure, so our weekly Family Preservation Group and Fort Bend Mothers Support Group have suspended in-person meetings until further notice. We will continue monitoring recommendations made by the CDC and DFPS and update you as we know more.

While we navigate these uncertain times, we remain committed to supporting families through the process of foster care and adoption. If you are interested in learning more about the process, please register for a virtual Information Meeting by visiting the Event Calendar and choosing the date that works best for your schedule. If none of the virtual dates work for your schedule, please contact Trainer and Recruiter Carrie Shephard at cshephard@armswide.org to schedule a one-on-one Information Meeting. We appreciate your flexibility in allowing 48 business hours for a response. Although we typically hold Information Meetings in person at our office, we are monitoring the situation related to COVID-19 and offering virtual or one-on-one meetings to ensure the safety of our families and children.
